Speed Dating helps singles

Speed dating is a fairly modern phenomenon. Due to the digital age we live in, it is growing increasingly difficult to meet people in real life outside of work. Speed dating is one answer to that problem.

Speed dating is an event where a group of guys and a group of girls meet. There is a row of tables and a row of chairs on both sides of the table. Either the men or the women will stay in the same chair as the people of the opposite gender move down the line, so that everyone meets everyone else. There is a certain amount of time that you will spend with each person, sometimes as little as thirty seconds, all the way up to five or even ten minutes, depending on the size of the event and the way it is structured.

There is usually a bell or timer that goes off when your time is up with each individual. After everyone has met everyone else, they write down who they would like to see again and go from there, arranging further dates. There have been several successful love stories coming from this method, even resulting in marriage.

Some do not like the method simply because there is not enough time to decide if the person you are meeting is someone you want to go on another date with or want to try to enter a relationship with. Some find that they make decisions on a superficial level, based on looks alone, since they have so little time to get to know the person. There are also religous dating sites such as Christian dating services. Christianmingle is one of these sites and it’s very easy to use…

The fact remains, though, that in this world where everything is digital, real human companionship becomes harder and harder to find. If you are having a hard time meeting people, speed dating is a good way to break the ice and get yourself out there.
